"It's better to have burned and lost than to never have Barbequed at all"
Barbecue or barbeque (informally, BBQ; in Australia -barbie, in South Africa -braai) is a cooking method, a cooking device, a style of food, and a name for a meal or gathering at which this style of food is cooked and served.
So as the days become shorter and we look back over the summer months which were spent mostly in lock-down. We'd all have to admit firing up the BBQ on an average Tuesday afternoon kind of made us feel like we were on our summer holidays. For just that beautifully sunny, warm moment with the coals just lit, an ice cold beverage in one hand BBQ tongs in the other, we were masters and commanders of our own gastronomic destiny. Just the smell of the whole event brought back such amazing memories of past summers with friends, the laughter, creating memories and just having some wholesome good fun. Ahh the BBQ, so much more than just a method of cooking.
So we decided to put together some ideas and inspiration to make sure you look like the Master BBQ Chef albeit for just that moment!!! - Enjoy!

3. Make your own Barbecue sauce.
Here is a great recipe from BBC Good Food;
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
400g can chopped tomatoes
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
85g brown sugar
3tbsp malt vinegar
2tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1tbsp tomato puree
Method:
Heat oil in a saucepan and add the onion. Cook over a gentle heat 4-5 mins, until softened. Add remaining ingredients, season and mix. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 mins, until thickened. For a smooth sauce, simply whizz the mixture in a food processor or with a hand blender for a few seconds.
