But first...Lets Brunch!

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

According to Wikipedia..."A combination of breakfast and lunch, and regularly has some form of alcoholic drink (most usually champagne or a cocktail) served with it. Usually served anytime before 3 o'clock in the afternoon."

Bunch is always a good idea

Brunch originated in England in the late 19th century so it would only seem fitting that we continue this great social occasion with the respective enthusiasm, and as Brits we most certainly do. Over the past 4 years, "brunching" has become widely popular with amazing venues, restaurants and hotels now offering “brunchers” a range of options from high-end sophisticated luxury to the bottomless boozy affairs with live DJ’s and entertainment. One thing they all have in common this year is that they remain entirely unaffected by the current 10 pm curfew in place for bars and restaurants! So lets brunch… but no more than 6 at a table of course.

With this all this in mind, we can imagine you are literally google-ing “best brunch in London” right now, we thought we’d list (in no particular order) our current favourites for you right here because we’re good like that!

54-56 Great Eastern St , London, EC2A 3QR (Map)

"Meet Gloria, a 70’s Capri-style & all-day long Trattoria in the middle of Shoreditch run by a crazy bunch of 85 young and passionate people from the Bel Paese and the sunny coast of Naples.

An explosive menu mixing old Italian classics, with amazing products direct from 180 small producers in Italy – plus a few fun twists from Chef Andrea. From the oozing pesto heart burrata, to the Girella (ravioli filled with soft rabbit ragout and Italian polenta), to the Neapolitan Pizza heated in the gigantic Marana oven or even the Italian gelato made with love, Bronte pistacchio or Nocciola del Piemonte. Everything we do is 100% fresh and homemade.

When it comes to drinks, the bar team has created a killer cocktail menu, with the likes of Colada Me Later, a kick-ass flaming version of the classic colada, or the ultimate Italian classic Negroni topped with truffle foam. In the warm and cosy wine room, you’ll find 50 Barolo’s from the best winemakers of Piemonte like Marco Parusso or GD Vajra.

Gloria is a little corner of Italy over two floors. Open for lunch & dinner – and "brunch" at the weekend. Joyful and lush by day, the place gets funky at night, with house-made playlists and a cosy vibe downstairs. Bouyyaaa"

19-21 Blandford Street, London W1U 3DH (Map)

"Our food at the restaurant is inspired by immigrant cuisine and the rich shared flavours and cultures across parts of South Asia & the Far East, the Middle East, East Africa and Britain.

This “mixed-heritage” cooking or “cooking across borders” celebrates both the beautiful similarities and intricate differences between cultures, and always creates even more delicious food. Through many of the dishes we cook, we are naturally drawn to a maternal, instinctive style of cooking that has been at the centre of many of these family-oriented cultures - food that is made to nurture and nourish. Many of these methods do not make it into professional kitchens and are handed down from one generation to the next."

"Our vegan-friendly restaurant is an extension of our home and our home kitchen so we hope you feel very much at home with us or enjoy Jikoni from the comfort of your own home. We look forward to welcoming you!"

Open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday and for "brunch" on Saturday & Sunday.
