How to Look After Your Skin!

Skin is so important to take care of, it’s the largest organ of the body after all! It goes through a lot like weather changes, air conditioning, sweating, expanding, contracting and so much more. It’s not all about appearance, but healthy skin is vibrant skin, and taking care of it can reduce the signs of ageing and helps you produce more vitamin D when exposed to the sun! There are many ways to be conscious of making the right choices for your skin and that starts from the inside out.

So we thought we'd S.H.E.D (Sleep, Hydration, Exercise, Diet) some light on how best to take care of your most radiant asset!

Sleep, Hydration, Exercise and Diet!

Sleep

Sleep is the time for your body to renew and be rested, a consistent lack of sleep can cause those dreaded dark under-eye circles and tired looking skin. To help optimize your sleep environment, check out our sleep blog.

Hydration

Keeping hydrated is one of the best and easiest things you can do to improve your skin from the inside-out. Naturally brightening your skin and helping prevent dryness. Another aspect of this is to cut down or cut out alcohol and smoking as these habits make your skin lose elasticity and has a lack of nutrients when done in excess.

Exercise

The main thing is to get your heart pumping, which increases blood flow around your body. However you like, whether that’s running, cycling, working out, dancing, swimming and the list goes on! The benefit of the increased blood flow around your body is that your skin gets a natural healthy glow. Check out our favourite quick no equipment home workouts.

Diet

A healthy, balanced diet is the best way to get all your vitamins and minerals in, which makes your skin feel it’s best. We would recommend eating your 5-a-day to avoid resorting to supplements when possible! An easy way to do this is to put your fruits and veggies into a delicious smoothie, some amazing recipes can be found in our smoothie blog.
