Gyms are back open but whilst they were closed we had to get creative to stay fit through lockdown. With opinion divided whether we should be braving the gyms as they slowly reopen again or explore outdoor workouts and sweat it out alfresco style, we’ve rounded up the best in exercise classes that you can do outdoors! There is something for everyone whether you like hard core bootcamp style workouts or an energizing start to your day with yoga in the park!

 

This brilliant fitness duo delivers boot camp style street workouts all over London! Best way to get to know your neighbours?! Gather 10 or more residents on your street (you’ll need proof!) and Raise LND will come to you! You could be part of a memorable bodyweight session – fantastic idea to bring neighbourhoods together and getting your endorphins flowing!


 


Lockdown didn’t stop this boutique yoga studio in South West London from getting creative with their yoga offerings! If you live in the area head out to Wandsworth Park Tuesday through to Friday for Sunrise Yoga followed by a delicious smoothie from their vegetarian Bamboo Café around the corner. What a better way to start your day?


 


If you are on the lookout for a killer workout Flex Chelsea has launched their Flex in the Park concept for groups up to five people. The sessions take place in Battersea Park and the class style ranges from powerful vinyasa flow to high-intensity interval training to get your heart pumping! Remember to stay hydrated, this summer is hot!



 

Someone say 80s aerobics? Fitness brand Frame is bringing you really fun workouts that will get you a guaranteed hit of endorphins! Delivering the outdoor sessions at Coals Drop Yard in Kings Cross you can expect dance cardio, Ass&Abs as well as barre workouts! The classes are limited to five people so places book fast!



 


A military designed fitness program might sound a bit intimidating but these guys are the leaders in outdoor training and have been around since 1999! Their workouts can be found in over 140 venues countrywide and their signature one is ‘Military Fit’ consisting of 60 minutes focusing on five key components: Physical preparation, Strength, Anaerobic capacity, Aerobic capacity and Recovery. Do you have what it takes to Be Military Fit?


 


When looking for an exercise class outside the norm why not head out to the River Thames and see London from a different perspective as well as getting a fully body workout and testing your balance? Active 360 offers just that with their SUP (stand up paddle boarding) group sessions. Perfect to enjoy and get out on those last days of summer! Locations include Kew Bridge, Richmond and Paddington Basin.



 


The Swim for Tri is a swim technique and coaching concept run by competitive swimmers Dan and Keeley Bullock. Didn’t make it to the beach this summer? Fear not! Pop up yoga club with their unique locations concept has the solution bringing you beach yoga at Fulham’s Neverland on Saturday mornings! These fun and energizing 75 minute sessions will get you stretching in the sand surrounded by beach huts and palm trees! Ticket cost covers entry to Neverland as well as a vegan treat!



 

Want to train like Anthony Joshua? Then head out to Paddington Park where celebrity boxing gym BXR has launched a whole new membership called BXR Parks! The sessions run three times per day, seven days a week and you can choose from SweatBOX, Strength & Conditioning and Cardio Condition & Core workouts that will guarantee that burn feeling on the following day!



 

Whilst waiting for ‘Park Run’ to resume, why not head to the great outdoors and explore London vast green spaces! Doesn’t cost a penny and does a world of good by boosting your mood and keeping you fit! There are a number of fun monthly challenges going on the Strava and Nike running apps to motivate you to get out and conquer those miles!
