London's Most Unique Restaurants

London, said to have over 15,000 restaurants, dining choices are endless. So which ones stand out to create a totally unique and immersive experience like no other? From 100ft in the air to pitch black darkness, below are our five top picks!

Everyone is talking about this one, the last place that you'd usually want to eat! The Supperclub Tube....your meal takes place on board within a 1960s Victoria Line tube carriage, which is situated in The Pumphouse Museum in Walthamstow (stationary!). Offering Latin cuisine in a relaxed and quirky setting this immersive experience can’t be found anywhere else!

Head Chef Beatriz Maldonado (Bea) who originally hails from Bogota, Columbia, is serving a delicious 6 course authentic tasting menu with a small but carefully selected wine list. They are currently accepting bookings for up to 5 people until July 2021!

Situated in an Old Governers House dating back to 1819, fine dining at The Clink Brixton is a totally unique experience. The twist? Your food is prepared and served by inmates! Escaping prison must be difficult, but who knew it would be hard to get in? As this restaurant is based in a Category-C prison, you must be over 18 and go through a security check before entering.

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton is consistently placed in the Top 10 restaurants in London. Other locations in Cardiff, High Down, Styal and Manchester all run by The Clink Charity, supporting prisoners train and gain their qualifications in the field then with employment after release.

They have just released information on their home delivery options too!

Back from November 2020, this is a completely sensory experience, based in Farringdon and open since 2006. When they say dining in darkness, they mean it! It’s pitch black to the point you can’t see you hand waving in front of your face. The experience is to taste gourmet, creative and seasonal food whilst allowing you to reevaluate your perception of taste with heightened senses. Not only that, this restaurant is staffed by blind waiters and waitresses who serve your mystery dishes in the dark.

Other experiences are also now on offer including workshops which will blow your mind including wine and cheese tasting without labels (some not in the dark) but tailor made tastings which would make an amazing gift for the foodies in your life!

The Lifestyle Guide are SOOOO pleased that this is back for Summer 2021! Suspended 100ft in the air on a 22 seat sky table is an experience like no other! Each flight features a premium menu of food and drink to enjoy whilst soaking in the incredible views of London Skyline.

A must do for an unforgettable meal or celebration, not to mention the ultimate selfie you can take up there. Now accepting bookings for May, June and July 2021 they have an array of different experiences from Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners to Cocktails, Afternoon Teas & Sunday Sessions!

Located in the heart of Piccadilly, HaiDiLao is a traditional Hot Pot restaurant originating from Chinese cuisine. This type of food is designed for groups so make it a day out with your friends or family. Choose your broth, create your own sauce and order as much meat, noodles and veg as your heart desires. This one won’t break the bank! The even more interesting part of this restaurant is that they have robot food servers bringing your orders straight to your table - high tech right? Is this the future?
