It's a little way off....2024 to be exact, BUT London is getting a new shiny Rosewood Hotel in the heart of Mayfair! The Chancery Rosewood will be located at 30 Grosvenor Square overlooking the gorgeous Grosvenor Square gardens.
This ultra-luxurious 5-star hotel will be Rosewood's second property in London with the current one in Holborn and their sixth in Europe.
Rosewood has partnered with real estate developer Qatari Diar and feature architecture restoration and interiors by Sir David Chipperfield of David Chipperfield Architects and Joseph Dirand and is already in high regards with outstanding ratings from BREEAM for their sustainable development.
The building was built by architect Eero Saarinen and established in 1960, it was originally for the United States Embassy.
The project will be bringing to life the iconic Grosvenor Square location by highlighting its historic mid-century features including the Grade II façade and diagrid ceiling and bringing in new contemporary design details to be admired by the luxury traveller. The theme is to combine the 1920's and 1960's era of elegance and glamour into this hotel with art-deco styling.
Scheduled to have 139 guest rooms and suites as well as spaces for private dining designed by Tristan Auer and Bar Studio and high-end wellness facilities designed by Asaya. They will have incredible event facilities too including the largest which is a 750 capacity ballroom.
We expect only the best from Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and can't wait to step inside once it's all finished. Good luck with the project Rosewood!
